henry miller

I can remember many winter afternoons cozying up hiding from the dark days and hoping for summer nights flipping through Henry Miller. Page by page, chapter by chapter, book by book this novelist (and painter) sparked my initial interest to write. He was known for breaking with existing literary forms and developing a new sort of 'novel' that was a melange of fiction, autobiography, social criticism, philosophical reflection, free association, and mysticism. While his writing is autobiographically based and expressive of real-life, his stories blurred the boundaries of fiction and creative non-fiction. If you fancy a journey to the sensory side of life - real or imagined - let Henry's words entice you...
